My name is Kelcie Midkiff and I am the founder and lead designer of Pivotal Design Company. Design has been my passion for as long as I can remember; as a child I was drawn to the rhythm and balance of spaces and could often be found rearranging my parents’ living room in search of the perfect positioning.  Ever since, I’ve been fascinated by the science and art of understanding how space and design convey messages and emotions. Dimension, texture, patterns, and colors are all tools to tell a story.  I used these tools for years as a special educator, designing classroom spaces that, like your home, needed to be comfortable, inviting, and inspiring. I was passionate about my role in students’ learning and studied their interactions with their environment.  A simple design or space delineation could transform an otherwise sterile space into a dynamic environment for learning, socializing, and resting.  It wasn’t until I applied this concept to my own home as I prepared it for sale that I discovered just how impactful and thrilling strategic design can be. My home sold in 5 days – and I’ve built a career doing what I love!
